Nature itself has created all the conditions for the grapevine to yield a wonderful harvest, and for brandy and wines to acquire unique aromas and complex flavors.
It is impossible to imagine Georgian winemaking without Kakheti — it is in this region that about 70% of Georgian wines and, of course, wonderful brandy are produced.
Why is Kakheti an ideal place for grapes? It’s all about the special terroir. This beautiful word unites not only the characteristics of the soil, but even the traditions of the region. Terroir is the environment of origin.
Kakheti is the largest region located in the east of Georgia. The territory is characterized by complex and contrasting ground, the climate is mild and sunny, and the soil is diverse. Excellent conditions for vineyards! Wild vines grew here even before man began to cultivate the land. Now in Kakheti alone, more than 500 varieties of grapes are registered.
Aromatic Rkatsiteli, ancient Mtsvane, rare Khikhvi, unusual Kisi, white Chinuri – all the original Georgian varieties growing in Kakheti, and you can’t list them all. You can get both excellent wine and wonderful brandy from them. When creating Georgian brandy “Chateau Kakheti”, we first carefully collect ripe white grapes, make wine with a pleasant floral-fruity aroma, the basis for brandy spirits.
